The Turntable with host Johnny Britt is an exciting new show that you don’t want to miss each and every week. Britt originally from the group Impromp2 who was one of the first groups in the 90’s to spearhead the Neo Soul movement fusing hip hop and jazz will be playing the music that has inspired him over the decades as a soul/contemporary jazz recording artist. With such a vast music catalog and relationships in the music industry as a writer, producer and recording artist Britt will bring a fresh approach to the DJ Turntable. Johnny Britt is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, trumpeter, arranger and composer in the entertainment industry. Johnny has worked behind the scenes in the recording studio or live on stage with some of the biggest artists and musical projects such as: Josh Groban, David Bowie, Jennifer Lopez, The Temptations, Maxwell, Peabo Bryson, Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Anne Lennox, Dionne Warwick, Kashif, Norman Conners, The Winans, Aaron Neville, Najee, Harvey Mason Jr., Boney James, Marcus Miller, Take 6. His list of who’s who music greats goes on and on. Johnny has appeared in films or has worked on major motion picture music soundtracks La La Land, Hidden Figures, Adam Sandler’s Sandy Wexler, Dunkirk, and Marshall: The Thurgood Marshall Story. He was also the music director and vocal trainer for the award-winning film series The Temptations. Classically trained, you may also see or hear him during the Oscars.
Johnny is the brainchild and founding member behind critically the acclaimed groundbreaking group Impromp2. The group infused Jazz, Hip Hop, Rap and R&B. They reached #1 status in the UK Soul Charts and was signed to Motown Mojazz Records. The group recorded four albums. Impromp2 performed at The White House for President Bill Clinton as well as the 1997 Olympic Games, in Atlanta. Britt’s new 2020 CD “Mo Jazzin’” which features Eric Roberson, Norman Brown, Marion Meadows and Paul Jackson Jr. is his most dynamic and diverse collection to date.
