Louie accidentally fell into DJ’ing when his local youth club needed music playing at a fund raising event and suggested linking 2 HiFi units together, it was basic but worked and he caught the bug. Within 2 years, after playing out via a mobile, he was offered a residency at a 7 Night A Week Dunstable venue called the Greyhound. Having established a busy night specialising in US imports he came to the attention of The California Ballroom across town, one of the countries top live venues during the 60s and 70s. A new upfront night was to be launched in the basement within the complex to be known as The Devils Den (later renamed Didoz), it was here that Louie built a night for the more discerning soul music lovers and would also MC and present the live acts who appeared there to packed houses like Brass Construction, Fatback, Bobby Womack, The Crusaders,  Heatwave, Grover Washington, Issac Hayes… to name a few. Around 1978 he was invited to appear every month on the Robbie Vincent Show on BBC Radio London showcasing what was hot in his DJ sets. By this time Louie was guesting at various clubs and events around the South and Southwest of England including The Royalty, Stage 3, The Rio, The Gold Mine, Boxes in Exeter, as well as working on the early Caister Weekenders, All dayers in Brighton, Reading, Southampton and was on the DJ line up of The Knebworth Soul Festival in 1980 which attracted 15000 people. Louie continued to play out and by 1983 moved into commercial radio securing his own Saturday Night Soul Show on Chiltern Radio, later to be networked  on stations in Milton Keynes, Northampton, Gloucester, Bristol and simulcast on Choice Fm in South London. He also hosted the breakfast show on Choice Fm Birmingham when it launched in 1995. Over recent years Louie has broadcast on MKFM in 2014, Delite Radio from 2017 and still enjoys playing out at various clubs and events like Summer Breeze Soul week in Corfu and is a regular in Barnet for the Summer Soulstice fundraiser.
